Jena
I seem to be the only stupid person on the earth, so I need you all to explain this to me:
Why is everyone marching in Jena to free the "Jena 6"? I understand that they were 6 black students beatingup one white student, but why should they be freed and cleared of all charges? If 6 humans beat up one human, is that not a crime?
Secondly, if the roles were reversed, and it was 6 whites beating up a black student and the KKK and other "white" organizations showed up, would the public have the same reaction?
I understand there are racial lessons that need to be taught to some students and tolerence needs to be taught to both races in that town, but does being black really get you off the hook for assult in this day and age?

If the roles were reversed the only thing that would be different is that those goons, who proclaim to be reverands, would be there marching for the black victim asking for the death penalty for the 6 white guys who commited a hate crime and beat up a single black kid. In this idiotic march in Jena, they're giving the thumbs up to black people everywhere that its ok to team up and bash a white guy because if you do, we'll come there and get the charges dropped.
What the idiotic 'reverands' are missing is that this entire episode revolves around a crime, not just some act. No one asked any blacks to move to the back of the bus or get out of the white part of any restaurant. Some black kids commited and admitted to a crime and now a couple of black guys are trying to get the charges dropped. Only in America does an act of such extreme stupidty make national news and result in a bunch of people attempting to circumvent the justice system.

I tried to have a conversation before the LSU game with 2 sorority-type girls and instucted them (after they parroted to me the racial garbage they hear on the media) to talk to me about Jena without using the following words: black, white, racist, hate crime, racial, or any other identifier of race. They just shut up. A friend of mine, who obviously has a brain, could finally talk. She mentioned the actions of the DA. I said, let's fix that problem. She mentioned excessive punishment for the teen still in jail. I said, let's fix that problem. Finally the sorority girl mentioned the noose in the tree. I said, "How is that any different than me hanging a noose in a tree in free speech alley?"
She came back with "That's still a hate crime."
"What if I put a puppet of George Bush in it, is it still a hate crime."
"Then that is freedom of expression."
I chimed in, "So a rope is a sign of hate?"
I, of course, got a reply that I don't understand anything and how dare I question what is hate...
UGH!!

The fact that you couldn't find something better to talk to two gals about before the LSU game is more disturbing....

I was busy in tiger stadium with a huge sign. You might have seen my pic on the front page of the sports section on sat. morning.
Besides, sunny is contractually obligated to have a date Saturday...
