Welcome to the Eye Sores of Baton Rouge Forum
Eyesore - Noun
- something very ugly and offensive
- qualities of appearance that do not give pleasure to the senses

I created this forum because on a daily basis I pass several eyesores around Baton Rouge. Sure there are parts of Baton Rouge that are eyesores in their entirety, but i'm talking about eyesores that stand out like sore thumbs in nice parts of the city. This could be anything from trashy medians and intersections to businesses or homes that have no concern for the way their places look to passers by. Perhaps the city will take note of the places that I plan on posting here as the new year gets underway. Feel free to post any eyesores you would like as well. Camera phones come in handy for stuff like this!

Check out O'Neal Lane at SHF
Speaking of ugly, have you driven by the duplexes at this location? It's unbelievable how what started as nice looking places have become such an eyesore. Cars and trucks in various stages of disrepair all over the grass, down mailboxes, overgrown shrubs and grass, fences falling over, trash cans that are now part of the landscape, tires, household goods, "junk" piles...when is it going to be too much? I pass this way at least 4 times a day and it's just disgusting.

A couple weeks ago it was a sleeper sofa fully extended, in the front yard for the trash...quickly replaced by the next tenant's broken bookshelf, washing machine and beer boxes. Whatever happened to taking your oversized trash to the dump? Oh that's right, you have to pay for that service up front as opposed to being able to skip out on the bill.

If anyone is interested in buying these places up, bulldozing and building something nice...let me know.
