Traffic light on Millerville @ Avalon?
Why oh why did the city parish see fit to put a traffic light at Millerville and Avalon of all places? Just two intersections to the south is where Flannery Rd meets Millerville. Flannery runs all the way from Central and is a highly travelled road whereas Avalon Dr enters the subdivision of Avalon and basically feeds that neighborhood. During peak traffic times at Flannery its somewhat every man for himself. The northbound Millerville traffic turning onto Flannery has to sit in the center turn lane awaiting traffic, while Flannery road traffic turning left onto Millerville is either blinded or blocked by the row of cars on Millerville waiting to turn onto Flannery. They have to risk life and limb to hang a left onto Millerville without getting broadsided by the now interstate-like traffic on Millerville.

Whats more, once they manage to get onto Millerville without getting tagged because they put the petal to the metal, they have to make a sudden stop at the traffic light at Avalon Dr, to let the one person per hour make a left turn onto millerville. Am I the only one who sees this as totally backwards?

Kudos to the City Parish for some fantastic planning here.

There must be somebody in the neighborhood that contributed a heavy amount to a political campaign and was tired of waiting to turn into their subdivision.

While I find that possible, I don't find it likely.

I was just trying to find something other than the absolute idiocy that dominates road decisions made in this city.
