Jan Waters Arrested in Husbands Slaying - 4 Years Later Still No Trial
The case of Jan Waters who is accused of killing her ex-husband Alan Waters in 2004 seems to have stalled out. It has been nearly 4 years since the murder and Waters, who was arrested and charged with the crime, is out on bail.

Detectives conducted an unconstitutional interrogation...

To "Be real": You are so right. And the fact that she is spending the kids' money shows her own selfishness toward her own children. Im sure that everyone here can agree that kids arent stupid - they know Jan killed their Dad. Regardless of what she wants to believe. I worry about the long term psychological effects on the kids, having to live with their father's killer. It's crazy how long this is taking to go to trial. I hope that when she is found guilty the court requires her to liquidate whatever properties she has in her name (and im sure there are some) and reimburse his estate for all the legal expenses she has drained from it.

If they ever have a trial evidence will be missing, witnesses gone, etc. This is exactly what they want. This is unbelievable! And frankly it makes me sick that this can happen.
You can be if this was a poor, black woman she would have had a trial within the year and be sitting in jail.

What is the DA's Office doing.
Ready to hang her before you know any facts? I like her and her girlfriend and think you all need to chill with your witch hunt.

Well, how are we going to know the facts if this never goes to trial. Liking her.....fine. If she's innocent, why the delays?

Jan Waters - 4 years, still free and no trial in sight.

It is unbelievable to me that this woman is allowed out on bail (4 years and
counting). She has been caught in lie after lie regarding her whereabouts before
and after the murder. You don't need a law degree to know she is a murderer.
The only reason she is not in jail now is because she has her dead husband's
money to retain a high priced attorney and legal defense.

Pressure by way of phone calls and letters to the DA's Office and the Judge demanding to know why they are not handling this case in a timely manner and
what exactly are their plans. The DA and the Judge are elected officials and as
a tax payer and member of this community you have a right to ask questions
and expect a response. This is an election year. The present DA is not running again, he has no interest. The candidates running should be asked what their
position is on this situation and how they would handle it.

Putting pressure on the DA and Judge is needed. I believe it would make a difference.
