Attention Ascension Parish Residents
I have been reading your thoughts on the loop projectand the fact that you do not want the loop to come through your parish. While I admit that seems a little selfish especially given the reasons you've cited, I must ask a few questions. First and foremost, if you are so selfish as to not care about helping the capital city of Louisiana, why should you be so upset that the capital city doesn't "seem" to care who they displace for this project? It would appear you are all acting at the same level of thought on this proposal. Secondly, how do you propose that the situation at hand is resolved? Baton Rouge isn't getting any smaller (along with Gonzales/Prairieville) and there is nowhere to go except in the direction that the loop is proposing to go. So lets hear what your solution is to this ever growing problem. Keep in mind it has to be a feasible solution that doesn't affect any residents anywhere. Its obvious that if it effects any current residents, it must be a bad idea and has to be rejected.

Cheers

i live in the general area between st amant high (hwy431) and laural ridge(stringer bridge)

I have to agree, that is a nice area and would not benefit a single bit from an Interstate system.

I think you said it. St. Amant area would not benefit a single bit. This came from you.

I think all he is doing is looking for some reasonable options to ease traffic instead of the loop. His posts look 100% neutral to me, but that's just me.

Again, I find his posts to be totally neutral. If you want to be good proponent of the loop, how about some good posts/thoughts on how to relieve traffic congestion in Ascension and Baton Rouge without building a new roadway? I'll tell you this, I sat on Airline Hwy the other day for nearly 20 minutes in traffic between Highland Rd and Old Perkins. I crept along at a snails pace past the fairgrounds and never got over 5 miles per hour until after I got past Wal-Mart. Now correct me if i'm wrong, but 5 years ago that place was a ghost town. Nothing past Highland Rd until you got to Gonzales. Now its like downtown Baton Rouge and guess what, its headed your way. Cabela's in Gonzales is the proof. Everything is coming out that way and the same old roads that are here aren't going to be able to handle the load. Think about that when you guys head into Gonzales or Prairieville for groceries/work/entertainment and get stuck in traffic.
