I don't see that happening... i'd be very surprised if they put the loop on course to take out a new residential development.

well go to BRLOOP.com and look at the interactive map and scroll inward and u will see Dallas Drive in Walker with the loop going straight thru all our houses in this subdivsion except the first 3. And this has been here for 20-25 years, it is not a new subdiv.

I live in Prairieville, and it is down to this route or one other one that runs through Tommy Martinez neighborhood....So where do you think they are going? I am not trying to work anyone up. This is reality. I have been to the meetings, and know it is more than likely going to take my house or ruin the value.

I also forgot to mention that they have already had someone place survey stakes on my property in the back of my house, and all down the street next to my house where I have heard they are taking all the houses.

Did the people say they were from the Loop project when they did the survey, or are you assuming that they were?
I know several people from the loop project and not a one is excited to have to move people in order to complete the loop.
I think that if it relieves congestion while still letting us expand the interstates later on, then I think the handful of homes it displaces is worth it.
I know my apartment next to LSU isnt affected, and how dare I say those things, but we can either build it now and solve the problem or we can wait 20 years and then have to destroy 10 times as many to make a less impact on the city's traffic...

Thats is exactly right. You live in a apartment and have nothing at stake. Did you take 70,000 out of your savings to put in on a house for a down payment, and add another 15,000 on upgrades to have it possibly tore down? Do you think I willl get paid for all the upgrade made to my home? My home is less than 7 months old......I think you can keep your oppinions to yourself until you actually own a house, and know what is at stake.

Wouldn't that make this a pretty boring discussion/website?

I am not trying to be contrary, but 7 months ago all possible routes for the loop were listed. Did you look into this before you bought/built?

It was 13-15 months ago when I bought this lot, and lined up the building of my house. And back then they had lines all over the country as possible routes.

I did own a home before I went back to school, and the 200 foot wide road will most probably not go through your house. The proposed corridors are a mile wide (5280 feet), so there is no way you can say that the loop will pass through your house. It's people like yourself that make those blanket statements which kill projects like this and is why this wasn't done years ago.
With a project this big, they aren't going to screw you if they need your property.
