They hit the New Image Health and Wellness Center, which is run by a fairly well known doctor - Donald Auzine.
Agents confiscated files, medical records, and receipts.
Drug enforcement agents say they believe...

Back Room Deal
This smells like another good ole Louisiana “Back Room Deal” to me. We will have to wait until they make the deal public but it has all the makings of a “get out of jail free card” for the good ole Doctor Auzine. I bet some of his friends called in some favors to Federal Court. If nothing happens to him in court he will continue on his marry way as a licensed doctor. Anyone who follows this kind of stuff knows that the Louisiana Medical Board will not do anything to Doctor Auzine. They have a reputation for allowing bad doctors to continue to practice. The SOP is a short stint in rehab followed by a short probation. Would you want this guy treating you in an emergency room somewhere? That is probably where he will end up since DEA took his controlled substance license. With his medical license he can still practice in an emergency room using the hospitals controlled substance license and prescribe whatever he wants. In the end all that they have done is embarrassed him for a while!
Wait and see what the Louisiana Medical Board does or better yet does't do.

Nice guy
Are you confusing a “nice guy” with a “good person”? A “good person” would not put their financial gain above the trust that a patient places in their doctor to prescribe/treat them in a way that is in the patient’s best interest. From all that I have read Dr Auzine might be a “nice guy” and not a “good person”.
I have to agree with an earlier post. I would not want Dr Auzine treating me or my family and I will be interested to see what the Medical Board does to him. I never see anything in the media concerning penalties handed down by the Medical Board. Does anyone know how to follow this case to the Medical Board or are any news outlets planning on following this story through the Medical Board proceedings?

I'm not aware of what the La. Medical Board is going to do with him. However, I have been following the news the last several months, and have seen on the news how the DEA has been raiding doctor's offices in the New Orleans and southeast La. area, shutting them down, seizing records, arresting doctors, and shutting down their practices. I recently watched a gynecologist being escorted from her building by agents for prescribing pain meds. I'm not sure what's happening to them after the arrest, but these arrests sure are making the news. I may be wrong, but with the DEA, FDA, IRS, FBI, and the local boys panting for him, I don't think there will be any Louisiana Back Room deals here.
BTW, I read the charges for the controlled substances. I'm wondering why he wasn't charged with distributing Methadone. He was pumping out gobs of unnecessary methadone prescriptions. I know this to be a fact. There may well be another indictment coming. Let's hope so.

I've never heard of the Medical Board doing anything to anyone. That's just for show. Anytime you have a situation where a group polices themselves it's pointless, i.e. doctors policing doctors, lawyers policing lawyers, politicians policing politicians, and even police policing police. These are mostly to give the general public the idea that these groups are held responsible for their actions. This only happens in rare instances.
