Woodlawn High Parents Upset with Groping Investigation

Parents say he's been groping female classmates for the last two weeks. Now, a 16-year-old Woodlawn High School student is facing criminal charges. However, parents say something should have been done sooner.
East Baton Rouge sheriff's deputies charged the young man with simple assault and simple battery. Both offenses are misdemeanors. Parents who spoke with WAFB say the 16-year-old boy started grabbing the girls in the halls about two weeks ago. Those parents claim the girls told an assistant principal about it and that the teen received a warning.
We're told that the assistant principal later brought the young man and all of the girls making the allegations into her office so they could confront him. However, we're told all he received was another warning. Parents claim Tuesday, the boy pushed one of the girls against a locker and threatened her. That's when at least two parents went to the school Wednesday morning, saying the situation was not handled correctly.
Bridget Broussard's daughter is one of the victims. She says, "They were not comfortable talking about it in front of him. Not to mention, he was able to see who had complained, who had gone to tell on him, which made the retaliation and the bullying at this point, worse."
Schools spokesman Chris Trahan says an investigation is underway. Trahan says the student charged will be disciplined, which includes the possibility of being expelled. Trahan says that investigation will also look at how school administrators addressed the problem.
Sheriff's deputies also wrote a ticket to Bridget Broussard. She's charged with simple assault. She reportedly started yelling right in the face of the assistant principal at Woodlawn. Deputies say Ms. Broussard actually thanked them for giving her a ticket.
