Baton Rouge police say detectives have secured a warrant for the arrest of 17-year-old Marvin Brown in connection with the shooting on the levee after the Fourth of July fireworks show.
Brown is charged with attempted first-degree murder and illegal use of a dangerous weapon.
The two people shot that night are still recovering from their wounds.
Police say Brown was seen running from the scene and hiding in nearby bushes before eventually fleeing.
We're told officers searching the area found a pistol that had been thrown away. The pistol was matched to shell casings found on the levee and Brown's DNA profile was matched to the pistol by the Louisiana State Police crime lab.
Brown is described as a black male, 5'11" and weighing 215 pounds. Police say his last known address is 1017 East Polk Street.
18-year-old Devin Collins was also previously arrested on July 6th and charged in connection with the shooting.
Anyone knowing how to find Marvin Brown is urged to contact the Homicide Division at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
