Federal drug agents say they've busted a major cocaine trafficking operation in Baton Rouge.
Agents arrested six people, some of them illegal aliens.
The DEA agents worked with detectives in Baton Rouge and say they stopped a fairly significant operation that started in Mexico.
Kevin Harrison with the DEA says, "One politician once said all politics are local. Well, drug-trafficking is local. And even though it came from Mexico, it could be down the street in the Greater Baton Rouge metropolitan area."
The agents tell us because they have been so successful that the demand for cocaine in Baton Rouge has gone up, along with the price on the streets.
