Johnson's ruling in this case is right in line with his usual ignorant and biased assault on the law. The Bob Odom case is a great example.

Furthermore, Johnson's rulings are an indicator of a more serious problem, which is the flawed system we have for electing judges. Judicial appointments may have some problems, depending on who is in a position to make the appointments. But electing judges from gerrymandered districts to meet racial quotas and protect other judgeships will produce an endless succession of incompetent and unethical judges like Don Johnson.
