One has to wonder if he had just run off the road and not had a wreck and damage the unit if he would have gotten away with it. I see police units speeding well over 70mph through the 60mph zone on I12 daily. These are Baton Rouge City units and in Livingston Parish so I know they are either on their way to work or on their way home and not on an emergency call. And I know once they clock in and go to work they are giving out traffic tickets for the exact same thing I just saw them do.

But yes, they are all just people too. And I don't know about now but a few years ago the statics were that there were a higher percentage of alcoholics on the police forces than in any other occupation. Maybe that's changed. I hope so.

I'm glad no one was hurt. I wonder if he will pay for the car.
