The Growing Green conferences will highlight findings from a comprehensive study of Louisiana’s green economy funded through a $2.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. The LWC was the lead agency in the consortium effort, which included extensive research conducted by LSU economists on the regional green economy, development of workforce solutions and economic development strategies necessary for future job growth.
Conference presentations will show how green business activities are shaping regional economies in Louisiana and how emerging green industries will impact job growth and demand. Attendees will learn how to find green training programs and job opportunities, and will have the opportunity to hear from employers currently engaged in green business activities.
The conferences are free and open to the public, and will be of special interest to employers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, economic development officials, workforce development officials, organizations with green initiatives, training providers, educators and researchers, government officials, Chambers of Commerce, job seekers, students, and anyone interested in future green business activities in Louisiana.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to register at www.laworks.net/green.
