Waffle House Killer Sentenced to Life in Prison

Antonius Jones, who was found guilty in May of killing David DeMersseman was sentenced to life in prison by State District Judge Lou Daniel yesterday.

Jones killed DeMersseman during a robbery of the Waffle House on Sherwood Forest Blvd. DeMersseman, a resident of Valdosta, GA, was passing through Baton Rouge and had stopped at the

Waffle House to eat around 1:00 in the morning. The entire incident was captured on the Waffle House security cameras.

2 other men, Larry James Jr. and Ikey Lane Washington were with Jones shortly before Jones committed the murder inside the Waffle House. They will both be tried for armed robbery in the future.

Judge Daniel stated that Jones committed an act that has left a mark on this community and added that Jones has never accepted responsibility for his actions.

Jones also received 60 years for the armed robbery charge.
