Two Arrested for Burglaries in the South Sherwood Forest Area

Baton Rouge Police Burglary Detectives arrested two men, Maurice B. Randall 20, 11888 Longridge Ave BR and Carey Laniel Martin 19, 12074 Newcastle Ave BR,  today, Thursday August 25, 2011 for several counts of burglary.

Over the last two weeks police have handled several burglaries in the South Sherwood Forest area, vehicle, residential and business. Two of the burglarized vehicles were Baton Rouge Police units, one a marked unit where a lap top computer was stolen.  Based on evidence collected during the followup investigation police obtained search warrants for the homes of both suspects. During the execution of said warrants police recovered the stolen BRPD laptop.

Upon completion of the investigation Randall was booked into the EBR jail charged with eight counts of vehicle burglary and one count of business burglary.
Martin was booked into EBR jail charged with eight counts of vehicle burglary, one count of business burglary and one count residential burglary.
