Baton Rouge Police SWAT Wins State Title Again

For the fourth straight year the Baton Rouge Police Department’s Special Response Team won 1st place
in the Louisiana Tactical Police Officers Association Annual SWAT Competition, featuring tactical teams from
across the state. This year’s event was held in Lafayette.
In addition to finishing first overall, the BRPD team also won the Obstacle Course and Rifle
competitions. They took 2nd place in Shotgun and 3rd spot in Handgun. Cpl. Kevin Heinz also won the
individual Sniper competition for the second year in a row.
Competing team members were Corporals Bryan Taylor, Mike Walker, Kevin Heinz, Freddie Burton,
Trey Landry and Chris McClure.
