Meth Lab Arrest Nets 3 in Livingston Parish

On February 2, 2010 just after 5:40 pm, Narcotics Agents from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Tri-Parish Narcotics Task Force conducted a search of a residence located at 18782 Old Ferry Road near French Settlement.  Upon their arrival at the residence, they saw people grilling steaks on the front porch and “cooking” meth in an oven located in the kitchen.  Three people were taken into custody after a fully operational meth lab was discovered in that oven.

Richard Smith, a 26 year old white male who listed his address as 18782 Old Ferry Road Maurepas, La., was charged as follows:

  • 1 Count Operation/Creation of a Meth Lab
  • 1 Count Manufacturing of Schedule II CDS

His bond was set at $150,000.00

Jeremy Tanner, a 22 year old white male who listed his address as 17648 Cline Drive Maurepas, La., was charged as follows:

  • 1 Count Operation/Creation of a Meth Lab
  • 1 Count Manufacturing of Schedule II CDS

His bond was set at $150,000.00

The third person charged was Brandon Babin, a 37 year old white male who listed his address as 18782 Old Ferry Road, Maurepas, La., who was charged as follows:

  • 1 Count Operation/Creation of a Meth lab
  • 1 Count Manufacturing of Schedule II CDS

As of February 4, 2020 at 8:00, all three remained in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
